SPARTAN SOLDIERS SPARTAN AUGMENTATIONS MJOLNIR: I II III IV V VI

SPARTAN SOLDIERS 

The creation of Dr. Catherine Halsey. The Spartan project was created to prevent a outbreak of another civil war by neutralizing rebels and pirates.

Humans with near perfect DNA with natural stunning intellect and physical attributes were kidnapped at the ages of 5-7 and replaced with flash clones that soon died to cover up the kidnappings.

They were brought to Reach where they endured the most vigorous training exercises. At the ages of 13-15 the Spartans went through physical augmentation to make them into the perfect soldier. The process killed many or made them unable to remain in active duty, but those who came out of it ok were the best the UNSC had.  

After taking care of various rebel situations, their main training was cut short with the coming of our attacks. 

Spartans had an amazing success record during the Covenant War but after the disaster at Reach and then after the First Strike Mission only five remain. 

Spartans are known to most of our warriors as, "The humans in special armor."

Five members remain from the SPARTAN II project.

The SPARTAN III project is unknown of at this time. Our spies are working around the clock to find details.

 

SPARTAN AUGMENTATIONS 

The Spartan augmentation procedures are detailed here. They are as follows:


1. Carbide ceramic ossification: advanced material grafting onto skeletal structure to make bones virtually unbreakable. Recommended coverage not to exceed 3 percent total bone mass because of significant white blood cell necrosis.

 Specific risk for pre- and near-post pubescent adolescents: skeletal growth spurts may cause irreparable bone pulverization.

2. Muscular enhancement injections: protein complex is injected intramuscularly to increase tissue density and decrease lactase recovery time.

 Risk: 5 percent of test subjects experience a fatal cardiac volume increase.

3. Catalytic thyroid implant: platinum pellet containing human growth hormone catalyst is implanted in the thyroid to boost growth of skeletal and muscle tissues. 

Risk: rare instances or elephantiasis. Suppressed sexual drive.

4. Occipital capillary reversal: submergence and boosted blood vessel flow beneath the rods and cones of subject’s retina. Produces a marked visual perception increase. 

Risk: retinal rejection and detachment. Permanent blindness.

5. Superconducting fabrication of neural dendrites: alteration of bioelectrical nerve transduction to shielded electronic transduction. Three hundred percent increase in subject’s reflexes. Anecdotal evidence of marked increase in intelligence, memory, and creativity. 

Risk: significant instances of Parkinson’s disease and Fletcher’s syndrome.

MJOLNIR I

The start of the Navy's first experiments with powered exoskeletons. Mark I's consumed enormous energy. Either they had to be plugged into a generator or use inefficient broadcast power - neither option practical on the battlefield. Units that weren't scrapped was used as dock loaders to move heavy equipment.

Men in the MJOLNIR I Exoskeleton can run at 32KPH , lift two tons and have a 30mm minigun mounted on self-targeting armatures. They're also equipped with motion sensors and Infra Red scopes. Their armor is impervious to standard light weaponry.

MJOLNIR II and III

Very little is known except a lot of effort was made into making the design more smaller, compact and not requiring external energy sources.

MJOLNIR IV

Like the Mark I exoskeleton but much, much less bulky and more compact. The suit has many layers, an outer layer reflects lights with a faint green-gold iridescence. It covers the groin, outer thighs, shins, chest, shoulders and forearms. There is a helmet and an integrated power pack - much smaller than standard Marine "battery sacks." Underneath are intermeshed layers of matte black metal. The armor's shell is a multi-layer alloy of remarkable strength. It has a refractive coating to disperse incoming energy attacks though it isn't highly efficient in this aspect. 

Each battle suit also has a gel-filled layer to regulate temperature; this layer can reactively change in density. Against the skin of the operator, there is a moisture-absorbing cloth suit, and biomonitors that constantly adjust the suits temperature and fit. There's also an onboard computer that interfaces with the standard-issue UNSC neural implant. The armors inner structure is composed of a reactive metal liquid crystal. It is amorphous, yet fractally scales and amplifies force. In simplified terms, the armor doubles the wearers strength and enhances the reaction speed of a normal human by a factor of five.

Normal humans cannot use this, unlike previous models, they don't have the reaction time or strength to drive the system, only SPARTANS with their enhanced features can. 

MJOLNIR V

MJOLNIR V armor is constructed in overlapping layers. It is a sealed system, capable of extravehicular activity or operations in toxic atmosphere. It is hardened against EMP and radiation, and has environment filters that are completely effective at removing toxins and bacteria from local atmosphere.

The armor's shell is a multi-layer alloy of remarkable strength and has been augmented with a refractive coating capable of dispersing Covenant energy weapon attacks.

The battle suit contains a gel-filled layer that regulates temperature and can reactively change in density. The inner skin suit is a moisture-absorbing synthetic linked to an environment control computer and the "pilot's" UNSC-issue neural interface.

Each SPARTAN has a molecular fiber network within his brain, an upgrade to the standard "Command Neural Interface" (issued to all UNSC troops). This network translates electrochemical signals to digital code and routes them through an interface connection at the rear of the skull. His thoughts could now command the armor's movement and weapons, and input from the onboard sensors could come directly to his mind. The synthesis of machine and mind is so fast that it is almost impossible to chart—reaction time is more than five times faster than of an un-augmented human.

Sandwiched between the external armor and the internal padding is the most devastating weapon the suit carries: a layer of crystal. Woven by molecular tools into a super dense optical computer memory, this crystalline layer forms a network capable of supporting the kinds of artificial intelligence usually reserved for starships—a "piggyback" system. An AI's personality and processing matrices can be carried by the armor and delivered to the onboard storage in a crystal data chip no larger than a personal currency chit.

With such a powerful computer in a mobile package, the SPARTAN-II / MJOLNIR V combination is designed to be the most devastating intelligence tool ever created.

MJOLNIR VI

Simply a more refined version of the Mark V. Its shields are much stronger and recharge at a faster rate. It can withstand damage from much greater falls and magnifies the users strength to un-measurable levels. It is also more suited to Zero-G environments an deep sea waters.
